At Learning Matters, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to succeed. As part of our commitment to educational equity, our Board of Directors approved two changes to our pricing at the November 18th board meeting.
- Expanded Sliding Fee Scale:
Based on federal and local guidelines, our sliding scale fees have been significantly expanded to better meet the needs of our community. The lower fees may be applied to current families receiving discounts beginning January 1, 2025. - Rate Increase: Beginning July, 1, 2025, our full-fee tutoring rate will increase $5 per hour.
The new fee structure will making educational supports accessible for ALICE households in Tennessee. ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents hardworking families who, despite being employed, still struggle to make ends meet. We know that the financial pressures on all families have only grown with the rising cost of living, making it even harder for them to afford the extra support their children need. That’s why, in the face of these challenges, we are hard at work addressing this critical need and ensuring that more families can access our services.
To help bridge this gap, we’ve adjusted our sliding fee scale to provide more affordable access to our tutoring services. Starting in January 2025, families will benefit from significantly reduced fees, making it easier to access the personalized, one-on-one tutoring their children need to succeed academically.
