When I was in third and fourth grade, I had a really hard time reading. If my teachers asked who wanted to read out loud, I never raised my hand. I was scared people would make fun of me because I could not spell a lot of words. I also read very slowly. My mother had to help me every night with homework because it was hard for me to sound out and spell words.

Learning Matters has helped me a lot over the past few years. They have helped me spell and sound out words.  They helped me read a lot faster.

This year when my teacher asks who wants to read out loud, I am the first person to raise my hand. I can spell words out and I am able to read fluently.

I feel very confident about myself. If it wasn’t for Learning Matters, I would still be reading slow and would not be able to sound words out. I am very thankful because if it wasn’t for Learning Matters I would not be where I am today.  When I get older, I want to buy a building for Learning Matters, so kids like me have a place to learn to spell and read. Thank you for changing my life.
